Freeze Property Taxes With No Service Cuts
With moderate increases to the vacant home and luxury home (over $3 million) taxes, we can freeze property tax while increasing city services.
Nick Mantas supported John Tory's yearly increases to property tax and privitization of city services resulting in poorer performance.
Free TTC for Youth and Seniors
By increasing the vacant home and luxury home (over $3 million) taxes, we will generate enough revenue to fund free TTC fares for youth and seniors. How much will this save you and your family every year?
During the Nick Mantas/John Tory era, TTC fares continued to rise for everyone while service fell behind.
Affordable Groceries Through a Public Grocery Chain
Create a chain of public grocery stores in every ward which operate near cost. This will reduce your grocery prices substantially while possibly creating additional revenue for the city.
Nick Mantas supported the creation of a four-store pilot project. However, this will not make a real impact on grocery prices in Scarborough-Agincourt.
